Ami is not a law firm. We are founded by a Stanford Law graduate but we are not a law firm. We partner with attorneys if and when needed.

Because we are not a law firm, your communications are not privileged. It's up to you to decide whether you'd like your tenant issues to be subject to attorney-client privilege. In our experience, most people are happy to have help.

All communication required to resolve your issue happens over email with an Ami representative.

Ami provides a secure file sharing service for large files. Small files may be emailed directly to Ami representatives.

Our aim is to keep you out of small claims court. But, if you end up there, you will sign an engagement letter with a partner attorney.

We charge you a flat rate for use of an Ami partner attorney's services. You do not pay the partner attorney directly.

We cannot guarantee we can get you your whole security deposit back. However, we often negotiate the return of a significant portion.

Ami representatives you communicate with over email will be a mix of AI agents and humans trained to respond to inquiries.

No, it is not. All help provided to you by the Ami platform outside of fees for filing and admin services is free of charge and similar to what you could find with a service like ChatGPT (however, our AI is tailored specifically to tenant issues). The only time you are paying for "legal advice" is when you pay to be represented by a partner attorney.
